When merely being good is not good enough you have the mindset of a winner. Combine this with experience and first class pigeons and you have got the makings of a top Champion. Dutch Grandmaster Willem de Bruijn certainly fits in this category. 

Experience Willem has got in spades. Not only has he been racing pigeons since he was 14 years old (he’s now 69) but he has always been someone who liked to experiment. Dry theory is not his thing: everything has to be scientifically tested and measured. The result of this method is a continuing simplification: the less factors that need to be controlled the more efficient the loft can be run. Besides, Willem’s testing experience has shown that a lot of so called standard things fanciers do have no beneficial effects whatsoever. In the end it’s all about taking good care of your birds and most of all: having super pigeons.
