Salina Regional Health Center has partnered with Barton Community College to provide a free Medical Assistant Program for nursing students wanting to take the next step in their career.

Medical assistants work in a clinic setting to provide quality care; they do vital signs, compare the medication orders to what the patient is taking, assist with procedures, prep the doctors note, look for signs of serious illness or injury and more. In this episode of the PULSE, Jaylynn Anders, Director of Clinical Operations and Tess Modrow, Nursing Recruiter talk about the Medical Assistant program how students are taking advantage of gaining experience and knowledge.

Upon graduation of the Medical Assistant Program, students are eligible to take the Medical Assistant Certification exam. To apply for the Medical Assistant program, visit https://pm.healthcaresource.com/cs/srhc#/job/6329.

The PULSE is sponsored by Salina Regional Health Center and airs every Monday from 11 a.m. to noon on KSN as a part of Good Day Kansas.
