Video (and slideshow) of Lake Pan's Community Meeting held on Tuesday, April 2nd 2024 at Lake Pan Community Center, in Lake Panasoffkee, Florida. Numerous guest speakers were on hand.

Some of which were:

1. Megan McCarthy, MPH, CPH, Operations & Management Consultant Manager, Florida Department of Health in Sumter County. McCarthy talked about numerous aspects, services and outreach pertaining to the local health department. Pamphlets were passed out. (See slideshow at end of the video.)

2. Bradley Arnold, County Administrator, Sumter County. Arnold talked about numerous topics. Such as:
A. Announcement of a new dual-structure, multi-use, two-story service center for Sumter County called 'Gloria Rowe Hayward Sumter County Service Center'; in honor of long-term clerk Gloria Rowe Hayward. It will be located at the northeast intersection CR-470 and US-301 in Sumterville. Arnold stated the center will be used for:
-- firefighter, EMS, police, rescue and county employee training. This include class rooms, fire towers and practice grounds.
-- a meeting area for board and community meetings (to meet county growth and legal requirements).
-- Clerk of Court and Tax Collector offices.
-- emergency, disaster and related special needs sheltering.
-- library services with desktop stations. Primarily online resources.
-- volunteer services.
-- public gatherings.
-- and other uses.
B. New construction of Sumter County Sheriff's Office Special Investigation Unit and Firing Range. This secured site will be located along SR-75 in Lake Panasoffkee. It will be located where the current stock-pile of hurricane debris sits; just south of CR-491W. The county hopes to have it completed by October of this year, since the current sheriff's office location adjacent to the dump was sold. A vehicle training course will later be added at this new site.
C. Addition of the Supervisor of Elections Facility adjacent to the courthouse in Bushnell.
D. Many other various topics, as well as discussions brought up by meeting attendees. To include sewer water treatment plant, road repairs, Lake Pan bladder dam, emergency services cost increase to residents and businesses, Sumter County's rapid growth, short-term and long-term items pertaining to Lake Panasoffkee and so on.
Arnold had numerous related display boards on display during the meeting.

3. Jeff Cohen, Sumter County Sheriff's Department. Cohen talked about phone, internet and mail scams and awareness. He also talked about the Sheriff Department's app.

4. County Commissioner Andrew Bilardello, Sumter County District 2, was also on-hand to answer any questions from local residents before and after the meeting.

These Lake Pan community meetings are held the first Tuesday at 7 p.m. of every month at the Lake Pan Recreation Center located at 1589 CR 459 in Lake Panasoffkee. Meeting organizer is Charles R.
