Racing Pigeons that have pushed themselves to the extreme during a race will cause a secondary feather to grow deformed on one wing or sometimes two wings. We call this the 'Badge of Courage' and it is only seen in the pigeons with the most heart and determination. These feathers will molt in each year with the exact same deformity.
