A vehicle was seen struggling to drive on a flooded street of Ajaccio in Corsica after a flash flood hit the area early on Thursday.

Vehicles being surrounded by water could be seen, as muddy flow cascaded down the streets of the city.

The flood left people stranded in their vehicles and local residents scrambling to save their properties as water began rising fast, after around 120 mm (around five inches) of rain came down in a few hours.

No major injuries were reported.
