Science has found ways to test a pigeons ability to locate their loft. After thousands for hours and dollars, scientists can now explain what fanciers have known for a long time and even forensic scientists use this method.
Each area of this planet has its own unique biome and chemical smell. Hampering a pigeons senses did not disable it from returning to loft with the exception of smell.
