Nifty and Sensex have broken the spell of falling markets. The S&P BSE Sensex closed 584.81 points or 0.72% higher at 81,634.81, while Nifty50 reclaimed the 25,000 level and ended 217.40 points or 0.88% higher at 25,013.15. Among the top gainers in the 30-share Sensex were Adani Ports with 5.01% gains, followed by M&M (+3.48%), Reliance Industries (+2.12%), HDFC Bank (+1.94%), Larsen & Toubro (+1.81%), and NTPC (+0.66%). State Bank of India, UltraTech Cement, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Asian Paints, and Axis Bank also gained in the range of 1-1.5%. On the other hand, Tata Steel, Titan, and Bajaj Finserv were the biggest losers in the Sensex, each falling more than 2%. They were followed by JSW Steel, Tata Motors, Bajaj Finance, Hindustan Unilever, and ITC. Nifty Smallcap 100 closed with gains of 2.05%, while Nifty Midcap 100 settled with 2.16% gains. Nifty Microcap 250 closed higher by 2.87%.
