A film about pigeon racing in South Yorkshire.
It was taken in 1987 at the Royal Arms Wakefield Road Barnsley.
It shows a group of miners from Dodworth and Redbrook Collieries flying their pigeons.
This slowly disappearing pastime was very popular in the mining communities.
The rules of the race are here explained by the ex NUM Dodworth and Redbrook President 'Perk' Eric Richardson in an interview with Dave Cherry.
