Short Description

Indications

This medicine is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure), heart failure, myocardial infarction (Heart attack) with left ventricular failure or left ventricular diastolic failure.

Side Effects

Patients using this medicine may rarely experience syncope (fainting), thrombocytopenia (low levels of platelets), renal (kidney) dysfunction, angioedema (swelling under skin or mucous membrane), dizziness (lightheadedness), and hypotension.

Warnings

Pregnancy

This medicine should is contraindicated in pregnant females. 

Lactation

This medicine should not be used by lactating mothers. Consult your doctor.

Driving

Please avoid driving when taking this medicine as it may affect your ability to drive.

Alcohol

Please avoid consuming alcohol when taking this medicine.

Precautions

This medicine should be used with caution in patients with history of hepatic (liver) impairment, severe renal (kidney) impairment, renal artery stenosis (narrowing of renal arteries), severe cardiac insufficiency, aortic or mitral stenosis (narrowing of heart valves), and angioedema. Monitor potassium levels in elderly.

Contraindications

This medicine is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic (liver) impairment, cirrhosis (irreversible scarring of liver), biliary (bile duct) obstruction, cholestasis (decrease in bile flow), and primary hyperaldosteronism (excessive aldosterone production)..
