During this webinar Dr. Gilbert will take you through the strengths and weaknesses of population-based public health data. She will introduce or reintroduce some key MCH data sources that can be used at the local level (e.g., county and census tract), for grant writing, needs assessments, and planning. Together you will explore some of the good places to find MCH and Social Determinants data online.
There will be time for attendees to talk about the data sources they use, and the limitations audience members have become aware of in your public health practice. We will discuss some ways to identify the weaknesses of population-based data, assess the potential impact of the weaknesses, and work to overcome them, including employing other sources of information such as community input and case review findings to support good decision-making.
